Dr. Allan’s formal healthcare training includes University of Southern California Master’s Degree in gerontology, which enabled him to co-found the Los Angeles Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association while serving as a licensed skilled nursing facility administrator. In 1985 he was admitted to the University of California, School of Medicine, UCLA. Thereafter, he completed an Internal Medicine residency at the Veterans Administration hospital, San Antonio, Texas. Ultimately, Dr. Allan completed a two-year post-residency Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine through the prestigious UCLA/ Veterans Administration program. This program is considered one of the best training programs in the world of its kind. Overall, Dr. Allan has over 33 years of experience in the medical field.
In 1995, Dr. Allan fulfilled his dream of opening his own practice, Alamar Healthcare Inc. in Camarillo, CA, where he has been practicing ever since. He is affiliated with these medical facilities; St. John's Regional Medical Center, Oxnard and St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital, Camarillo, as well as many skilled nursing facilities and assisted living centers.
