Dr. Michael Mirro, MD – Fort Wayne, IN

Michael Mirro, M.D., is the Chief Academic Research Officer at the Mirro Center for Research and Innovation Clinical Research Center of Parkview Hospital, located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine and an Adjunct Professor of Bioinformatics at Indiana University. He previously served as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Iowa with a Research/Teaching position as a cellular electrophysiologist/molecular biologist. Dr Mirro has published over 50 peer reviewed scientific articles and serves on the editorial board for the Cardiovascular Digital Health Journal. Currently, active Research work in CIED interoperability and messaging patients implantable device data.
Dr. Mirro is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology, American College of Chest Physicians and Heart Rhythm Society. He has received board certification in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, cardiac electrophysiology, and geriatric medicine.
Dr. Mirro is a former Trustee to the Ameri¬can College of Cardiology (ACC), past Chair of the ACC Health Informatics Committee and Advocacy committee, As a past member of the ACC/HRS ICD Registry Steering Committee continues to provide advice on Cardiovascular Quality Improvement strategy.

Currently, Dr Mirro serves as a Trustee for Indiana University (2014-2023: President of BOT- 2017-2021: Chair of Finance/Audit Committee 2021-2022) and has served on the IU Health and IU Foundation Boards. He is an active board member of the Bio-Crossroads and 16 Tech Board of Directors both Indianapolis based economic development organizations.
